SASKATOON – Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is excited to announce the appointment of Dennis Perillat as the new Vice President of Academics, effective January 1, 2025.

With over 16 years of experience in education, Perillat has held positions as a teacher, principal, and Director of Education for One Arrow First Nation. Additionally, he served as a Program Coordinator for Adult Basic Education and the Dean of Post-Secondary Education at SIIT.

“Dennis is a proven leader who exemplifies SIIT’s core values of Balance, Honour, Kinship, and Vision,” states SIIT President & CEO Riel Bellegarde. “His extensive experience in education, combined with his commitment to SIIT’s mission as Leaders of Change, will foster meaningful educational opportunities and strong partnerships with Indigenous communities.”

Perillat expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, saying, “I am deeply honoured to be part of SIIT’s senior executive team and to continue serving an institution dedicated to uplifting Indigenous communities through education. I look forward to building on our shared vision of success, grounded in respect for our traditions and a commitment to academic excellence.”

The SIIT community extends its gratitude to Tavia Laliberte whose leadership has paved the way for this new chapter. We wish her well as she continues to support Indigenous education at Rupertsland Institute, as President and CEO, a position she assumed in July 2024.
