SK Government: Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Government of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina are pleased to announce the 2021-22 recipients of the Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship and the Queen Elizabeth II Centennial Aboriginal Scholarship.
The Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship is awarded to Holly Campbell to assist her in obtaining a Doctorate of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Regina. She will focus on developing public policy to better support climate change adaption in Saskatchewan communities.
The Queen Elizabeth II Centennial Aboriginal Scholarship is awarded to Natalie Owl to assist her in obtaining a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Regina. Her research aims to improve the quality of Indigenous learning education and improve future health outcomes for Indigenous communities.
“These scholarships help graduate and post-graduate students produce research that will have a positive impact on their area of study for the Province of Saskatchewan,” Advanced Education Minister Gene Makowsky said. “Congratulations to both recipients. I look forward to seeing the contributions of this important research to our province.”
Both scholarships are valued at $20,000 each. The Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship’s awarded annually on the basis of academic excellence to one student, or split between deserving candidates, who are pursuing graduate or post-graduate studies related to Saskatchewan politics and government at a Saskatchewan university.
The Queen Elizabeth II Centennial Aboriginal Scholarship is awarded annually on the basis of academic excellence to a First Nations/Métis student, or split between deserving candidates, who are pursuing graduate or post-graduate studies in any field at a Saskatchewan university.
