Students from across the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board will get a hands-on look at skilled trades opportunities during a special event at Hiawatha First Nation this week.
The KPR Indigenous Education Department and Pathways team, in partnership with Hiawatha First Nation, are hosting a Skilled Trades Fair on today from 10 am to 1 pm at the Hiawatha First Nation Gathering Place.
The fair is designed to promote in-demand careers among Indigenous youth. Students in Grades 9 to 12 will meet with community partners, take part in interactive challenges, and explore trades through simulators and activities, including the OYAP Skills Opportunity Showcase Trailer.
