Union says the company hasn’t agreed to an extension to get a plan in place

TEMISCAMING, Que. – It was a sliver of good news and a bit of hope hundreds of people had been wishing for.

Kipawa Mayor Norman Young, Temiscaming Mayor Pierre Gingras and Unifor president Local 233 Stephane Lefebvre told the more than 200 people in attendance during Tuesday’s townhall meeting there could be potential buyers of the mill.

Young said there are two potential buyers for two sections of the mill and two potential buyers looking at the complete RYAM site, as well as a local group who have expressed interest.
