Stories Told Are a Culture Shared: A Documentary on Storytelling in Indigenous Cultures
Credit: Ottawa StoryTellers
Local Indigenous storytellers discuss the importance of stories in the Indigenous cultures of Turtle Island. Storytellers have been gathering at Odawa Native Friendship Centre to share their stories and hone their storytelling skills. Louise Profeit-LeBlanc of the Na-Cho Nyäk Dun First Nation and mentor to many Ottawa storytellers shares with filmmaker Bob Fleck her reflections on the art of storytelling and its importance. Louise introduced Bob to a number of storytellers who are bringing this cultural tradition back into their daily practice.
Thank you to Odawa Native Friendship Centre and Bob Fleck Creative for their contributions to the documentary.
