Suncor Energy Inc. is an integrated energy company strategically focused on the responsible development of one of the world’s largest petroleum basins – Canada’s Athabasca oil sands. Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Suncor has more than 5,500 employees. Our core oil sands business is supported by natural gas production in Western Canada and downstream refining, marketing and retail operations in Ontario and Colorado. Suncor is also a leader in renewable energy development with four wind farms and an ethanol production facility.about this report

Suncor has voluntarily reported on our greenhouse gas emissions and activities through annual climate change progress reports since 1995. But we recognize there is more to greenhouse gas management than simply producing reports. We must also take action – which is why, 10 years ago, we launched a sevenpoint action plan on climate change. This report not only highlights our greenhouse gas performance to the end of 2006, it takes a look at how climate change issues and management have changed over the past decade – and what actions Suncor is taking to address climate change in the coming decade.
