Telefilm Canada releases its 2024–25 Annual Report and announces its Annual Public Assembly

Telefilm Canada today unveiled its Annual Report for the 2024-25 fiscal year. This fiscal year marked the first year of the 2024–27 Strategic Plan, Together for a Lasting Impact. Telefilm has taken concrete steps to maximize the impact of the Canadian and Indigenous audiovisual industry. Highlights from this first year are detailed in the full report, available online.

In addition, Telefilm will hold its Annual Public Assembly virtually on November 26, 2025 (details below). During the event, Julie Roy, Executive Director and CEO, and Sylvain Lafrance, Chair of the Board, will discuss key achievements from the past year and priorities for the future.

The 2024-25 Annual Report in a few figures:

  • Telefilm administered a total of $144.5 million in support of the Canadian audiovisual industry.
  • Telefilm Canada invested in 164 feature-length fiction and documentary films
    • Among these, 32 were official treaty coproductions.
  • 111 Canadian film festivals and 71 industry events received support through Telefilm’s national promotion programs.
  • Telefilm hosted a Canada Pavilion at 10 international events, serving as an essential meeting place that fosters partnerships, networking, and the visibility of Canadian talent on the world stage.

This virtual event will be broadcasted on Telefilm Canada’s YouTube channel.

Accessibility: The Annual Public Assembly will be available in both English and French, with subtitles, as well as Quebec Sign Language (LSQ) and American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation.

During the question-and-answer period, participants are invited to submit their questions to Telefilm’s Board of Directors or senior management by October 29 at questions@telefilm.ca. When submitting questions, please include your full name and the organization you represent, if applicable.
