Depending on the river, salmon-spawning season is either just getting underway or will be soon. Hundreds of people will flock to Island rivers and creeks over the next several weeks to see one of nature’s incredible events.

Michael Meneer, president and chief executive of the Pacific Salmon Foundation, said 2025 is turning out to be a great year to spot salmon, with favourable ocean conditions and “significant” stewardship and conservation work led by First Nations, streamkeepers and grassroots groups across B.C.
