Consumer Price Index, January 2016The Consumer Price Index rose 2.0% in the 12 months to January, after increasing 1.6% in December. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index increased 0.2% in January, following a 0.1% increase in December.
Retail trade, December 2015
Following a 1.7% rise in November, retail sales fell 2.2% to $43.2 billion in December. Declines were widespread as lower sales were reported in 10 of 11 subsectors, representing 97% of retail trade. Later snowfalls and unseasonably warm weather in many parts of Canada may have contributed to lower seasonal purchases.

Canadian pipeline net receipts of crude oil and condensates, and other liquefied petroleum products totalled 38.0 million cubic metres in December, up 5.1% from the same month in 2014.
