Almost one-quarter of Canadian seniors are caregivers
While older Canadians may be more likely than their younger counterparts to require help and care in their daily lives, almost one-quarter of Canadian seniors aged 65 years and older are caregivers themselves. And while the roles and responsibilities of these senior caregivers may have changed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the challenges they face could be heightened.
Monthly trade in goods by exporter characteristics, September 2020
Following four consecutive monthly increases, the number of enterprises that exported goods edged down 0.6% from August to 19,111 in September.
Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Flash estimate, October 2020
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for October. The advance results for October indicate that manufacturing sales increased 0.6%, mostly due to higher sales in the petroleum and coal products, paper, primary metals and wood products industries.
Food services and drinking places, September 2020
Sales in the Food Service and Drinking Places subsector were up 1.8% in September. Sales rose at full-service restaurants (+2.9%), limited-service restaurants (+1.0%) and special food services (+2.7%). Receipts declined at drinking places (-3.2%). All provinces reported increased sales in September, with Ontario (+2.2%) seeing the largest increase in dollar terms.
Oilseed crushing statistics, October 2020
Oilseed processors crushed 931 060 tonnes of canola in October. Oil production totalled 400 909 tonnes, while meal production totalled 531 444 tonnes.
Milled wheat and wheat flour produced, October 2020
Millers milled 289 500 tonnes of wheat in October, while wheat flour production totalled 222 806 tonnes.
Deliveries of major grains, October 2020
Data on major grain deliveries are now available for October.
Police-reported data on cybercrime, hate crime and organized crime, 2019
Data for 2019 on police-reported cybercrime, hate crime and organized crime are now available for a subset of police services across Canada that report to the microdata version of the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey. The survey collects data on criminal incidents reported to police, including information on victims and accused persons involved in the incident.
