Theresa Meuse of the L’sitkuk First Nation has been appointed the new Special Advisor on Indigenous Affairs at MSVU. She will begin in the role on February 11, 2025.
Supporting Indigenous student success and building meaningful relationships with Mi’kmaw, other First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities are of great importance to MSVU. As Special Advisor on Indigenous Affairs, Theresa will provide strategic direction on Indigenous Affairs at the university and develop initiatives and programs that respond to student, Indigenous community and institutional needs. Theresa will coordinate internal and external activities to support Truth and Reconciliation and the decolonization of the university including as it relates to curriculum, programs, policy, regulations, and pedagogy.
