In the wake of yesterday’s move by U.S. President Donald Trump to impose a 25 per cent tariff on all steel and aluminum imports — which, according to media reports on the order outlining the new levies would take effect on Mar. 12, a little over a week after that the now-paused blanket 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian and Mexican exports are currently on track to begin — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is pledging to “stand up for Canadian workers (and) industries” from the new levy, which he described as “entirely unjustified” and “unacceptable,” CTV News reports.
