Two Calgary-based people have been selected for this year’s Diversity 50 list by the Canadian Board Diversity Council which identifies qualified board-ready candidates for corporations and organizations across the country.
The two are Sara Austin, a passionate champion for women and children and a Standards Council Member with Imagine Canada, and Mel Benson, president of Mel E. Benson Management Services Inc. an international consulting firm working in various countries with a focus on First Nations/Corporate negotiations.
The Diversity 50 list is Canada’s first-ever database of diverse, qualified board-ready candidates including women, visible minorities, Aboriginal people and people with disabilities.
Pamela Jeffery, founder of the Canadian Board Diversity Council, said the initiative is a resource for directors and search firms who seek board candidates beyond their own networks.
