West Moberly First Nation receives 200K through BC Indigenous Clean Energy Initiative – Energeticcity.ca
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – West Moberly First Nation is receiving $200,000 through the BC Indigenous Clean Energy Initiative with provincial support through Clean BC.
The First Nation will use this funding towards the integration of solar power systems onto 48 residential homes.
West Moberly is one of ten First Nations in the province to receive BCICEI funding through a clean energy partnership between the Province, the Government of Canada, and New Relationship Trust.
These communities will receive a total of nearly $3 million to use towards energy-efficient projects ranging from the Penelakut Tribe installing a solar power system at the community school to the Northern Haida Gwaii Hospital and Health Centre equipping a biomass system to supply hot water heating.
