Winnipeg Singer/Songwriter Returns to ‘Wild Rose Country’
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Don Amero’s First Visit to Alberta Since 2010
Winnipeg, Manitoba (May 29, 2013) — A lot has happened to Don Amero since his last visit to Alberta. To say he’s been busy just might be an understatement.
Since late 2010, Don released a new album called Heart On My Sleeve, which was nominated for a JUNO Award. He won a Western Canadian Music Award, a Native American Music Award, an Indian Summer Music Award, and finally took home an Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award – after 19 nominations! But none of these prizes compare to his most coveted: his darling baby boy Oscar, who is now a year-and-a-half old.
Through all of this, the road continues to call. So Don is gearing up for a weekend of shows out west to share his stories and songs:
* June 5 – Edmonton AB
The Artery (9535 Jasper Ave.)
7:00pm / $8 at door
* June 7 – Calgary AB
Blind Beggar Pub (106-5211 Macleod Trail SW.)
9:00pm / $10 at door
* June 8 – Regina SK
Artful Dodger (1631-11th Ave.)
8:00pm / $15 at door
On the music video front… Don recently posted a brand new video for his next single Young Forever. The song is being released to radio stations across Canada this month. You can check out the music video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ol6g5iWg9no
ABOUT DON AMERO
Winnipeg’s Don Amero is undoubtedly one of the hardest working independent musicians in showbiz today. Since leaving his hardwood flooring installer job six years ago to pursue music fulltime, his star has been on the rise.
The singer/songwriter has toured coast-to-coast, headlined concerts, presented at festivals, performed with the symphony, played national television, and showcased in New York and Las Vegas.
Don’s musical style has been likened to John‐Mayer-meets‐Keith‐Urban.
His first three albums (Change Your Life, Deepening, The Long Way Home) have generated six national and international awards, and 20 more nominations.
Don’s fourth album, the self‐produced Heart On My Sleeve, was nominated for the 2013 JUNO Awards. His most personal album to date, Heart On My Sleeve tells a story from beginning to end, and was released in October 2012 at an “intimate and international” house concert streamed live on APTN.ca.
Don Amero captivates audiences of all ages with powerful and expressive vocals, percussion-style guitar play, and engaging storytelling. He is often called upon as a keynote speaker, and to deliver workshops for youth. His story inspires, and his message is one of encouragement, positivity and beauty. He continues to impress wherever he goes.
