Youth Suicide Prevention Conference

February 2 – 4, 2009

All travel, meals and accommodation costs will be provided for one youth and one chaperone. If you wish to bring another youth a $35.00 charge will be required from Tribal Council/Band to help cover the cost of meals.

Youth Criteria

1. Each delegate must be from a Saskatchewan First Nation.
2. Age 14 – 19. In school or out of school.
3. Delegates will be selected by First Nation.
4. Code of Conduct must be adhered to.Mentor/Chaperone Criteria

1. Each Mentor must be chosen by First Nation.
2. Mentor must be involved with youth programming.
3. Mentor will be responsible for the youth during entire conference.
4. Mentor will transport youth to and from conference.

Please submit the registration form attached, as well as a 250 word paragraph written by youth, which explains why they should be the youth chosen to attend the conference. Also include in the paragraph how the youth will share information learned at the conference and relay it back to their First Nation community. At the conference youth will be given a Tool Kit that will help them to facilitate suicide prevention workshops on their own!
