Description
Bruce Power maintains an environmental management system that aligns with the ISO 14001 standard Environmental Management Systems. This is required as outlined in REGDOC-2.9.1, Environmental Protection Environmental Principles, Assessments and Protection Measures, which forms part of the licensing basis for Bruce Power’s Power Reactor Operating Licence (PROL).
A qualified service provider is required to audit Bruce Power for compliance with the ISO 14001 standard and to provide a report and certification document once Bruce Power has met the standard according to the auditor’s assessment.
The re-registration audit must be conducted before the current certification expires to prevent any lapse in certification. Surveillance audits are to be conducted annually over the following two years to maintain certification.
