Pilasi Kingfisher’s family is stepping up efforts to find the missing teenager by getting the public involved in the search. People are gathering at the Main Street bus terminal on Sunday, April 29 between 10 and 10.30 AM to distribute posters of Pilasi.A web site designed to help find her went live tonight. www.pilasi.ca has photos, a place for people to post messages, and a copy of the missing person poster.

Tonight her aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends descended on Vancouver to search the streets. Even her college instructor is involved: he built the web site.

Pilasi’s grandparents John and Mary have been walking the streets of Vancouver looking for her for days. Her mother, Gay Williams, is coordinating search efforts from the home of the family friend Pilasi was supposed to be staying with the night she went missing.

Everyone who knows Pilasi is very worried about her disappearance in Vancouver. Her lack of contact since she went missing has only added to the sense of urgency and fears for her well-being. Her family is hoping a proactive search will help bring her home safe.

The 19-year-old Mt Currie woman disappeared last Friday. She got off the Greyhound bus in Vancouver and phoned her family at approximately 6 PM to tell them she wou McDonald’s restaurant inside the bus terminal . She was caught on surveillance tape at the sometime between five and seven that evening but investigators have been unable to track her movements since. She has not used her cell phone or bank account.

The word that Pilasi needs to be found is getting out on Facebook too. The “Find Pilasi Kingfisher” group allows anyone on the social networking site to join the group and post messages.

Pilasi is described as Native Indian, 5’8″, 185 lbs., heavy-set with brown eyes and long black hair. She was last seen wearing a black camisole and pink sweater, blue jeans, gold flip-flops and carrying a black nylon duffle bag.

Anyone who sees Pilasi is asked to call 911.
