Congratulations to Jason Baerg, recipient of the Emerging Artist Award for the 2008 Premier’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts!

Earlier this year, visual artist and sculptor Ron Noganosh received the Artist Award, one of the 2008 Premier’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts. As a recipient, he was given the privilege of nominating a promising new or emerging talent in the same field to receive the $15,000 prize.Noganosh selected Jason Baerg, a visual and media artist who specializes in drawing, painting, film and new media. Jason has presented at numerous institutions, including the Walter Philips Gallery, the Banff Centre, Toronto International Art Fair, and Art Basel Miami. The Ontario Arts Council administers the Premier’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts on behalf of the Ministry of Culture. These awards recognize outstanding achievement in the professional arts by an individual and a group.
