A northern Ontario think tank says income earned by Indigenous people in the region is getting closer to what non-Indigenous people make.
In fact, Northern Policy Institute President Charles Cirtwill is feeling quite optimistic the trend will continue, especially for women.
Cirtwill gives some of the credit to various levels of government.
He says “the federal government investing in on-reserve services, health care investments, trying to improve housing, even the water quality changes, make a significant change in your quality of life and your ability to kind of focus on what comes next.”
