The University of Winnipeg’s Weweni Indigenous Scholars Speaker Series presents Dr. Kim Anderson. She will be delivering a lecture entitled Because it’s 2017: An Indigenous Feminist Commemoration of Canada 150 on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Admission is free and all are welcome.
About Dr. Kim Anderson
Anderson is a Cree-Metis scholar born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. She is an associate professor in the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition at the University of Guelph and the author of over 30 book chapters and journal articles.
Her research interests lie in the areas of health and well-being of Indigenous families, gender and Indigenous peoples, community-based Indigenous research, oral history and Indigenous knowledge translation, and Indigenous environmental knowledge.

The Weweni Indigenous Scholars Speaker Series will present distinguished Indigenous scholars and celebrate the success of UWinnipeg students throughout the academic year 2016–2017.
