As the pre-Victoria Day parliamentary hiatus continues, Indigenous Services Minister Jane Philpott is heading west to unveil what her office is billing as “significant investments” in health services for Indigenous communities — and specifically, a fresh tranche of federal cash to support programs related to sexually transmitted and blood borne infections.
She’ll share the details of the new initiative during a morning visit to All Nations Healing Hospital in Fort Qu’Appelle.
Meanwhile, two of her cabinet colleagues are set to “highlight” the results of earlier funding initiatives in their respective regions: Treasury Board President Scott Brison will be front and centre alongside Glooscap Chief Sidney Peters at the “grand opening” of a new retail and business centre in Hantsport, while Social Development Minister Jean-Yves Duclos will mark the completion of two water and wastewater projects in Wendake.
