Celebration of Life to honour renowned Indigenous artist – SooToday.com

On the one-year anniversary of his passing, Woodland artist John Laford will be commemorated at the Art Gallery of Algoma on Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Members of the public are invited to a Celebration of Life tomorrow for John Laford, a well-known Indigenous artist from Manitoulin Island.

Tomorrow marks the one-year anniversary of Laford’s sudden passing at the age of 67.

The Woodland artist is remembered as a gentle, spiritual, and talented individual who has paintings featured in many museums across Canada, the U.S., and Australia.
