The Regional Municipality of York is launching an Agri-Food Start-Up Program, a two-year initiative to support equity-deserving and Indigenous entrepreneurs in building and growing successful food-based businesses.

Aspiring food entrepreneurs in York Region can access hands-on support and resources through the program, transforming innovative ideas into thriving businesses, a news release said. In collaboration with Foodpreneur Lab, Syzl, York Region Food Network and Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation, the program aims to break down systemic barriers in the agri-food sector and encourage inclusive economic growth across the region.
