The Department of Environment is currently accepting nominations for the Nunavut Joint Planning and Management Committee (NJPMC) and for Community Joint Planning and Management Committees (CJPMCs) as identified below:

Ovayok Territorial Park

Cambridge Bay

Iqalugaarjuup Nunanga Territorial Park

Rankin Inlet

Kingngaaluk Territorial Park

Sanikiluaq

Katannilik Territorial Park

Kimmirut

Napartulik Territorial Park

Grise Fiord

Kugluk Territorial Park

Kugluktuk

Iqaluit Kuunga and Qaummaarviit Territorial Parks

Iqaluit

The NJPMC and CJPMCs provide advice and recommendations to the Government of Nunavut on all aspects related to the planning, establishment, operation, and management of territorial parks.

Commitment and Compensation

NJPMC and CJPMC members are eligible to receive honoraria for their services. Meetings take place at least twice per year, and additional meetings may occur as required.

Eligibility

For NJPMC: Residents from any Nunavut community.

For CJPMCs: Residents from the specific community where the park is located.

How to Apply

Individuals who have knowledge and experience in parks, Inuit culture, heritage, tourism and wish to be considered for appointment to a joint planning and management committee can apply on the Department of Environment website, or by submitting a resume and cover letter.
