Coming Together with Toronto for Dress Purple Day 2025
October 16, 2025
Today, we are proud to join with Native Child and Family Services of Toronto, Jewish Family and Child Service, and the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto to mark Dress Purple Day 2025. Led by the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies, this annual campaign brings child welfare agencies, partners and community members together to raise awareness of the resources and supports available to help families thrive.
Why We Wear Purple
Wearing purple is a visible symbol of our shared commitment to family well-being. Our goal is to ensure children, youth and families have access to the connections, supports and culturally relevant resources they need. Together, our staff work with families every day to help build resilience, foster connection and create opportunities that support children and caregivers through times of need.
Engaging Our Communities
Together with fellow local Children’s Aid Societies and Indigenous Well-being Agencies, we engaged government members, community organizations, schools, workplaces and law enforcement to join us in raising awareness of the resources available to families. Their participation demonstrates that there is a broad and committed network of educators, professionals and caring adults across Toronto who are standing with children, youth and caregivers.
City of Toronto Proclamation and the CN Tower
This year, the City of Toronto has proclaimed October 16, 2025 as Dress Purple Day, underscoring the importance of standing together for families.
As part of this collective show of support, the CN Tower and City of Toronto sign at Nathan Phillips Square will be lit purple tonight as a beacon representing the many individuals and organizations who are committed to ensuring families know they are not alone.
How You Can Take Part
By dressing purple, sharing resources and/or amplifying the message online, you are joining a city and province-wide effort to ensure families feel supported, connected and never alone.
Join us in raising awareness and showing families across Toronto that help is available and communities are ready to stand with them. Learn more here.
