Gun laws don’t need tightening: Nunavut leaders

The shooting death of an RCMP officer in Nunavut this week should not prompt tighter gun laws, leaders in the territory said Wednesday.
As Nunavut MLAs voiced their sadness over Const. Douglas Scott’s death, questions arose in the legislative assembly over gun safety in a territory where most households have at least one firearm, which is used to hunt seals, caribou and other wildlife.
