About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

This year, for the Chilliwack Local Immigration Partnership’s 9th annual Public Forum, we welcome you to our event, Celebrating Breaking Bread.

This event is open to the public and will host discussion with local speakers of diverse backgrounds from the Upper Fraser Valley. We encourage you to gather, listen and share. All are welcome to attend.

The goal of the forum is to provide a space to amplify the voices of newcomers, hear about the Local Immigration Partnership and provide input on how we can make Chilliwack and area a more welcoming inclusive space for all.

Refreshments will be provided. Doors will open at 6:30 PM, with presentations beginning at 7:15 PM.

Please contact Jeanne or Kim at chilliwacklip@comserv.bc.ca with any questions.

More about the Chilliwack Local Immigration Partnership can be found on our website at https://www.chilliwacklip.ca/who-we-are/ .

From Chilliwack to Boston Bar, our communities are growing, with more immigrants identifying Chilliwack, Agassiz, and Hope as preferred places to live, work, and play.

Our vision is to improve awareness of services for newcomers in the Upper Fraser Valley, while building relationships and connections that will increase equity and inclusion across the region. Chilliwack LIP also recognizes the importance of fostering meaningful connections between Indigenous community members and Newcomers to the unceded, traditional Stó:lō territory. We are committed to working towards the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.

We gratefully acknowledge the funding partners Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada; and Chilliwack Community Services.
