Job Duties:

• Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
• Bake mixed doughs and batters
• Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods
• Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
• Operate machinery
• Organize and maintain inventory

Requirements:

Education: Completion of high school is required.

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of commercial baking experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 1 year of experience, a completion of a three- or four-year apprenticeship program for bakers OR completion of a college or other program for bakers is required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye co-ordination, Handling heavy loads, Manual dexterity, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Tight deadlines, Work under pressure.

Salary: $17.00 hourly, 40 hours per week.

Benefits: Meals provided at a discounted rate during work hours, Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate.

Important Information:The worker will work 5 days a week that will be scheduled within the business operating days from Tuesday to Sunday, from 1:00 am to 9:00 am, or from 3:00 am to 11:00 am, depending on the business’ needs. Flexibility on schedule is required. Mondays are off. Work on weekends is required.
