Laurelle’s Fine Foods located at 148 – 1689 Johnston Street, Vancouver, BC, V6H 3R9 is recruiting an experienced Bakery-Deli Supervisor to join the team. The salary is $20.00 per hour working an average of 40 hours per week. These are full-time, year-round positions. Our ideal candidate will be team oriented with a strong work ethic. We require a candidate who has at least 2 – 3 years experience in a food service supervisory role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Screening, interviewing, hiring, and training staff.
  • Supervising kitchen and customer service staff’s work schedules.
  • Conducting regular inspections of the cooking and bakery stations to ensure proper standards of hygiene and sanitation are maintained.
  • Overseeing food preparation, presentation, and storage to ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations.
  • Overseeing and assisting the cook and the baker’s productivity, production, and quality.
  • Checking in on customers to enquire about food quality and service.
  • Monitoring inventory and ensuring that all food supplies and other kitchen/baking essentials are adequately stocked.
  • Monitoring the store’s cash flow, settling outstanding bills, and overseeing the days ring outs.
  • Resolving customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Engaging with the public, creating content, and promoting the business online and through social media platforms

Requirements:

  • 2 to 3 years of food service supervisory experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s diploma in business administration, hospitality or culinary is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in production of food preparation/ cooking and baking.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Social media or marketing background is helpful.
  • Food Safe level 1 required.
