Job duties
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs. Conduct minor plumbing and electrical fixes.
- Perform minor repairs on appliances. Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions; perform minor repairs and adjustments.
- Perform safety and security checks. Conduct daily inspections of production equipment and maintain logbooks.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies. Move tools, equipment, and materials as needed.
- Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Perform general building maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, and patching.
- Assist millwrights, engineers, and electricians with repairs to electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Clean machines and immediate work areas.
- Safely install and dismantle equipment (e.g., conveyor belts, filleting machines, packaging lines) at the start and end of fishing seasons.
- Repair doors, windows, and fixtures.
- Assist in maintaining HVAC systems and lighting fixtures.
- Support seasonal facility preparation and shutdown activities.
- Report and recommend repairs, replacements, or upgrades to the building infrastructure.
- Perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment, including roll-up doors, freezer doors, loading ramps, and air curtains.
Requirements:
-Education: No formal education is required
-A minimum of 6 months of hands-on building maintenance experience or industrial setting is required. On-the-job training will be provided.
-Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Handling heavy loads, physically demanding, Bending, crouching, kneeling.
– Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
-Personal Suitability: Dependability, Flexibility, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
-Aptitude and ability to work safely with hand and power tools
-Experience installing, trouble shooting and fixing production equipment (e.g., production lines, conveyor belts, packaging equipment etc.) is a strong asset.
-Must take direction and abide by safety rules
– Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and capability to complete tasks relating to general maintenance/repairs such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, etc. is an asset.
-Language: Basic level of English is required
Wage: Hourly rate of $26.22, 40 hours per week.

Important information: Two shifts available: 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 12:30 AM from
Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required and depends on operational needs.
