Dr. S Shin dental corporation doing business as Smile well dental Surrey has an immediate opening for a full-time and permanent Certified Dental Assistant. Job duties for this position will include:

– Assist patients in preparing for dental examinations and support the dentist during procedures and treatments.

– Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment.

– Set up dental tools, fillings, and other necessary materials for treatments.

– Capture and develop dental X-rays with precision.

– Perform teeth polishing, apply fluoride treatments, and sealants to maintain oral health.

– Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic purposes and cast preparation.

– Provide patients with oral hygiene education and preventive care instructions.

– Manage administrative tasks, including invoicing, payment processing, scheduling appointments, maintaining dental procedure records, and ordering office and dental supplies.

– Perform intra-oral duties, such as suture removal, recording vital signs, applying topical anesthetics, desensitizing agents, anticariogenic solutions, and whitening treatments. Fabricate, place, and remove temporary crowns and restorations, and apply or remove rubber dams.

– Conduct pulp vitality tests, as well as perform periodontal screening and recording when required.

The successful candidate will:

– Dental assistants require completion of an eight-month to one-year college or other program in dental assistance or completion of secondary school with on-the-job training.

– Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examination Board is required to perform intra-oral duties.

– Experience of 2 years to less than 3 years in a similar field is required.

– Registration with BC provincial authorities

The Benefits will be:

– 4% of gross salary as the vacation pay

The salary to be paid to the successful candidate will be $35.00 per hour plus overtime at the applicable rates set pursuant to the BC Employment Standards Act.

This is a full-time permanent position, and the successful candidate will be expected to work 6-8 hours per day, 5 days a week Monday through Saturday during Smile well dental Surrey’s normal business hours.
