JOB SUMMARY: Community Research Coordinator & Analyst reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director of Planning, Performance and Evaluation.

The Community Research Coordinator & Analyst is responsible for the provision and coordination of comprehensive research studies across the Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) organization. Expectations are to support the Director of Planning, Performance & Evaluation, the Six Nations Ethics Research Committee and the SNGR Senior Leadership Team in the development of organization-wide research priorities, proposals, overseeing and supporting research activities, and working with and identifying research investigators to carry out aspects of community-driven research priorities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• University Degree with a strong research focus, with a Master’s degree or higher preferred

OR

• 3+ years of experience in research work
• Strong understanding of research protocols and research methods
• Experience with health research and working with health-related datasets
• Understanding of statistical techniques commonly used in health and social research
• Knowledge and experience with designing and implementing a wide variety of research methodologies including Indigenous research methodologies
• Demonstrated understanding of issues of First Nations research, data, and information governance
• In-depth understanding of data management (e.g., permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)
• Knowledge of best practices for data reporting
• An understanding of health equity, including the social determinants of health and their impacts on health outcomes for Indigenous populations
• A strong population health lens in all work
• Knowledge of working with various statistical packages an asset, but not mandatory
• Highly skilled with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Power Bi, but also Outlook, Word, & PowerPoint
• Skilled in using Databases and Analytical Software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong critical thinking skills with a “make it happen” attitude
• Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate issues
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent administrative skills
• Excellent research skills, to ensure the most cutting-edge data reporting and analysis
