Job Description:

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• Order supplies and equipment
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
• Clean kitchen and work areas
• Recruit and hire staff
• Manage kitchen operations
• Organize and manage buffets and banquets
• Occasionally wash dishes

Requirements

– Education: Completion of High School is required

– Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook is required. If the candidate does not have 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary certificate is required

-Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks, work under pressure, and attention to detail, handling heavy loads and physically demanding

-Personal suitability: Judgement, flexibility, team player, organized, initiative, dependability, and reliability

-Language: English is required

Salary: $16.55 hourly, 40 to 44 hours per week

Benefits: Gratuities. If the worker needs to relocate, the employer will cover the travel expenses

Important Information:

Flexibility on schedule is required. We are open 7 days a week from 11:00 am – 12:00 am Sundays to Thursdays and from 11:00 am – 1:00 am Fridays and Saturdays.  A typical shift would be 5 – 7 hours. Work on weekends and holidays are required. Overtime may be required.
