JOB SUMMARY: The Correctional Services Supervisor reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Director of Six Nations Social Services and within the policies and procedures established by Six Nations Elected Council, and in accordance with the relevant Social Services mission statement, values, and principles.
The Supervisor / Native Corrections Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and management of the Six Nations – Grand River Correctional Services programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree with a preference given to the following area(s) of expertise: law, criminology, social work, social sciences, or other related fields of study.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ management or supervision experience including staff supervision and financial management.
- Must successfully complete the Probation & Parole Officer’s Basic Training Program Weeks 1& 2 (maximum of two attempts allowed to pass PPO Basic Weeks 1&2 Exams) plus all other training and exams (maximum of two attempts each allowed to pass all other exams).
- Must build a knowledge base of the Criminal Justice System of Ontario.
Other Related Skills:
- Must possess accurate, clear, concise oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess solid organizational, time management and administrative skills and be able to prioritize workload.
- Must demonstrate ability to use computer hardware/software to effectively input and retrieve information.
- Must be able to work with a variety of personalities and temperaments.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team concept.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours as required.
- Must possess the knowledge/ability to interpret/apply relevant legislation.
- Must be knowledgeable of Six Nations community resources/agencies, as well as external resources/agencies in surrounding areas.
- Must be knowledgeable of traditional approaches to helping Indigenous clients.
- Must have a valid Class “G” Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle and proper insurance coverage
