Cultural Resources Developer

Wikwemikong Heritage Organization

The Wikwemikong Heritage Organization is responsible for providing, promoting, and exploring those needs that will help instill the native cultural heritage within our community. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to work with our team as the Cultural Resource Developer.

Job Duties

• Seek community input into the development of community cultural resources
• Develop cultural resources as identified for learning environments
• Work collaboratively with other team members
• Assist in the development of a community cultural strategy
• Plan and develop community resources identified through the above (books, video, social media, etc.)
• Liaison with community organizations and collaborate for cultural inclusion in community resources
• Other duties as requested and relevant to this job description

Qualifications

• A combination of work experience and education will be considered.
• Must be able to speak/understand the Anishinabe language, or willing to learn
• Be familiar with the following software: Adobe Illustrator, Canva, Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with the history, culture and language of the Three Fires Confederacy and the community of Wikwemikong
• Experience coordinating and conducting community workshops
• Must be able to work independently, and be a team player
• Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle

Salary: $58,947.00
