Protec Dental Laboratories is a full-service dental laboratory located in 1880 Ontario Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, V5T 2W6. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in a Dental Laboratory Assistant role. The salary is $34.62 per hour working an average of 40hours per week. This is full-time, year-round positions. Benefits include extended healthcare including medical and dental and RRSP matching program, available after 3 months of employment.

The ideal candidate must have good communication and interpersonal skills, a natural curiosity and willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment as a team player and independently. We require candidates who has a minimum of two years experience in Denture department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare plaster models and moulds from dental impressions
• Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays
• Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases
• Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures
• Mould wax over denture set-up to form full contours of artificial gums
• Finishing Orthodontics bands using various metals
• Finish metal framework of dentures and polish and buff dentures to obtain natural finish
• Designing metal frames for removable partial dentures (RPD) using 3Shape Software

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Must have post-secondary education in a dentistry, dental technician or denture program
• Excellent manual dexterity and strong hand-eye coordination
• Effective communication skills and the ability to read, write and speak English
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn and a sense of teamwork
