Director of Infrastructure

Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory (WUT) is seeking a strategic leader experienced in managing a broad spectrum of essential services and infrastructure development activities. The Director of Infrastructure is responsible for driving the development, maintenance, and enhancement of infrastructure across the community ensuring commitment to sustainable development and respect for our culture and environment. The Director of Infrastructure is also responsible for pro-active planning and managing our assets and the operations and maintenance for these services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct the planning and execution of various infrastructure projects, including housing development, road construction, community building upgrades and new builds.
  • Ensure projects comply with environmental regulations in line with community plans including Comprehensive Community Plan, Capital Plan, and Land Use Plan.
  • Cultivate strong, effective partnerships with engineers, contractors, and government officials, ensuring projects meet specifications and are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement long-term infrastructure strategies to support community growth and resilience, anticipating future needs and challenges.
  • Foster a collaborative approach to achieving organizational goals.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive experience in civil engineering, urban planning, or a related field, demonstrated by a successful track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Deep understanding of sustainable development practices, with a strong commitment to environmentally responsible and culturally sensitive project management, especially within indigenous contexts.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects effectively.
  • Proficient in strategic planning and project management.
  • Skilled in managing budgets and overseeing large-scale projects.
  • Effective in fostering collaborations and building partnerships.
  • Experience working within culturally diverse and environmentally sensitive frameworks.

Salary: $135,000
