Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Finance / Assistant Director of Finance this position is to ensue daily, monthly and yearly accounting entries are made to reflect the accuracy of revenue and expenses of programs under the St. Mary’s First Nation programs and services. The successful candidate will work with all members of the finance team to learn aspects of each position.
Assist with the following duties:
- Weekly cheques
- Bank statements (reconciliation)
- Online banking system
- Audit (retrieving information as needed)
- Creating monthly reports / General ledgers to send to Directors
- Inputting and updated direct deposit information for Royalty distributions
- Payroll (learning all aspects of payroll to become a back up for the current payroll clerk)
- Government remittance
- Yearly Royalties
- Accounts payable
- Filing and organization of finance documents
- Balancing visa statements
- Any other duties as requested by the Director of finance, Assistant Director of Finance or Director of Operations
Knowledge/Abilities:
- Knowledge of Programs and Services would be an Asset
- Experience in Finance Field (Minimum of 3-5 years)
- Must have knowledge of Accounting Principles and Practices
- Must have Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience in Sage 300 Accpac Accounting an asset
- Must be flexible as on occasion you must be available outside normal working hours on occasion
