Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in food preparation or service are required.

Supervision: 5-10 people; food service counter attendants and food preparers; kitchen and food service helpers

Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, team player, client focus, flexibility, excellent oral communication

Tasks:

• Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food;
• Estimate ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation;
• Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards;
• Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage;
• Prepare food order summaries;
• Prepare and submit reports;
• Supervise and check assembly of food orders;
• Must have knowledge of the establishment’s culinary genres;
• Supervise and check the food deliveries;
• Establish work schedules;
• Establish methods to meet work schedules;
• Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures;
• Hire food service staff;
• Address customers’ complaints or concerns;
• May perform same duties as those supervised.
