Job Description:

• Operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone blocks, slabs or other stone products to specific shape or design and to produce a smooth finish.
• Read blueprint, schemas and drawings.
• Operate machines to drill holes in blocks or slabs of stone according to specifications.
• Operate Blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions.
• Record manufacturing information such as quantity, size and type of goods produced.
• Check products for quality control.
• Perform templating and measurement of granite products

Requirements

Education: Some secondary school education is required.

Experience: 7 months of experience in the trade is required.

Edging experience with hand carving is a strong asset.

Driver´s license is an asset.

Weight handling:  Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Work conditions and Physical capabilities:  Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Handling heavy loads, Manual dexterity, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling.

Personal suitability: Accurate, Team player.

Language: Basic level of English is required

Salary:  $25.00 per hour. 40 Hours per week.

Benefits: Paid vacations. Accommodation is provided by the employer at a cost. Transportation cost is covered if the employer need to relocate.

Important Information: Work Schedule is from 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday with 2 Lunch breaks of 15 min that are paid, also have 10 min of paid coffee breaks. 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Flexible hours are required.
