Job Description:

• Sterilize bottles, and change diapers for toddler
• Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Shop for food and household supplies
• Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
• Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens
• Bathe, dress and feed child
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
• Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Organize, activities such as games and outings for children
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
• Prepare children for rest periods
• Take child to and from school and to appointments
• Supervise and care for children
• Tend to emotional well-being of children
• Help a child with homework

Requirements:

-Education: Completion of secondary school

-Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as child care provider or caregiver is required

–CPR certificate is an asset

–First aid certificate is required

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Work under pressure, Attention to detail

Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Judgement, Reliability

Language: English is required.

Children’s Ages: 6, 12 years old.

Work setting: Private home – Employer’s home

Salary: $20.00 per hour, 45 hours per week

Important information:Work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Position requires extended work hours and flexibility in scheduling; including evening or weekend hours as needed.
