Payroll Filing Clerk
Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Payroll Manager the incumbent assists the payroll staff by performing payroll duties as assigned and keeping up with filing. This position is responsible for ensuring that implementation of prescribed payroll activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
Job Duties
- Collect all activity sheets on paydays, verify hours, and credit balances.
- Process payroll bi- weekly, print check register and verify all deductions and balance the deductions
- Assist in completing all payroll steps and submit the file to Manager
- File payroll records and keep records of materials filed and removed
- Assist with group benefits and pension changes as needed
- Ensure all filing is kept up to date
- Performs other duties as requested
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience of a financial management system
- Some experience in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- High standards of ethics and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Strong organizational skills and able to work in a multi-tasking environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Exercise good judgment, show initiative and be proactive
- Knowledge of Anishnawbemowin and culture and committed to continual learning and development
- Willing to learn as training will be provided.
Salary: $59,916.00
