We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Radio Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for scoping out, programming, installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, removing, and servicing various two-way mobile radios, repeaters, wireless modems, and electronic accessories in customer vehicles. These vehicles include police cruisers, K-9 vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, public works plow trucks, school buses, tow trucks, and other commercial vehicles. Your work will directly support the communication needs of public safety, education, and public works departments, ensuring seamless operations within our communities.

Position: Radio Maintenance Technician NOC 22311

Wage rate: $34.62/hr

Job type: Permanent, Full time. (35 hr a week)

Education: Completion of high school is required.College Diploma will be an asset.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment repair

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure two-way radios, repeaters, tablets, wireless modems, center consoles, antennas, sirens, speakers, lights, and other electronic accessories.
  • Wire and integrate equipment into customer vehicles to meet operational standards and customer specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in electronic systems using multimeters, circuit testers, oscilloscopes, logic probes, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Inspect and test electronic equipment, components, and assemblies to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adjust, align, replace, or repair electronic equipment using soldering tools, hand tools, and equipment manuals.
  • Perform regular maintenance on electronic systems and address any faults or issues proactively.
  • Provide detailed recommendations for repairs or replacements based on thorough inspections.
  • Complete detailed work orders, test reports, and maintenance logs.
  • Accurately record all work performed and maintain records for future reference.
  • Collaborate with the service coordinator to manage tasks and schedules effectively.
  • Exceed customer expectations by delivering high-quality, timely service.
