Job Summary:

The Retail Sales Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the Circle K store and oversees the work of other employees. The retail manager helps ensure that the team is providing quality customer service, and the store is running smoothly and efficiently.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct and control daily operations
• Plan and organize daily operations
• Manage staff and assign duties
• Determine merchandise and services to be sold
• Determine staffing requirements
• Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
• Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers
• Oversee payroll administration
• Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.)
• Hire and train or arrange for training of staff
• Establish work schedules
• Order merchandise
• Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
• Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers
• Sell merchandise
• Organize and maintain inventory

Minimum Skills Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is required;
• Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma is an asset;
• At least seven 12 months of prior work experience in a retail sales position is required;
• Prior supervisory experience is required;
• Fluency in written and verbal English is required;
• Must be dependable, reliable and have effective interpersonal skills.
