The Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB) invites you to join our dynamic team as Senior Manager, Events & Awards, where you’ll play a pivotal role in driving our mission forward.

Salary Range: $64,200 – $83,000

The successful candidate will step into a leadership role and be mentored by our current Director, who will be retiring in July 2025. With hands-on experience managing our flagship events and awards, you’ll be primed to transition seamlessly into the Director position.

Role Overview: As SENIOR MANAGER, EVENTS & AWARDS, you’ll lead CCIB’s prestigious events and awards programs, from our flagship Indigenous Business Forums to national award celebrations. This role requires a dynamic leader with a passion for excellence, strategic vision, and the ability to deliver outstanding experiences for stakeholders, members, and sponsors.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Leadership:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of CCIB’s events, ensuring high-quality delivery that reflects our mission.
  • Manage event logistics, budgets, and vendor relations, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Lead on-site event operations and act as the primary point of contact for logistics, registration, and coordination.

Awards Administration:

  • Administer the national CCIB Awards program, including nominations, jury coordination, and video production.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote awards and nominations.

Team & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Mentor and manage the Events & Awards team, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
  • Work with Advisory Committees, sponsors, and key stakeholders to drive engagement and participation.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Partner with leadership to develop strategies that enhance event outcomes.
  • Stay current on trends, leveraging new technologies to elevate CCIB’s events and awards.

Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Event Management, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience managing large-scale events with a focus on logistics, budgets, and team leadership.
  • Strong proficiency with CRM systems, registration platforms, and event tools (e.g., MPower, WordPress).
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively across Canada.

Preferred Assets:

  • Familiarity with Indigenous business and relations.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
