JOB SUMMARY: The Supervisor, Special Needs Resource reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Early Years Child Care Manager, or designate.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
The Special Needs Resource Consultant Supervisor is responsible for providing individual and group assessments as required to evaluate individual and group needs; develop individualized education plans as required to support the inclusion of children with diverse needs. Will understand How Does Learning Happen. Being proactive in addressing needs for those children enrolled in Six Nations licensed childcare settings, and those agencies connected with Six Nations Childcare and Early Years services and agencies located within Six Nations. Will supervise, evaluate, and monitor Special Needs Resource Consultant team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a registered member of the College of Early Childhood Educators and have a Resource Teacher Certificate.
- Will have a minimum of two years working experience in a childcare setting.
- Will have a vehicle and a valid Class G Ontario driver’s license.
- Must submit and ensure immunizations are up to date.
- Must submit a health assessment as according to Child Care Early Years Act
- Must pass a criminal/vulnerable sector check.
- Must sign and submit an offence declaration every calendar year in which a vulnerable sector check is to be obtained.
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Will be thoroughly familiar with the Child Care and Early Years Act
- Will have extensive knowledge and application of preschool screening and assessment tools.
- Will have Food Handlers Certificate or willing to obtain.

- Will be native in preference to other candidates.
- Will have knowledge of traditional culture.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, staff, and professional consultants.
- Ability to be patient and have the ability to relate to children and adults with equal respect and dignity, regardless of life experiences, culture, and values.
- Aware of community diversity concerning culture, values, and customs
- Knowledgeable of the impacts of multi-generational trauma on families and the community
