Position: Sushi Chef

Wages: CAD$28.00-37.00/hour (depending on experiences)

Types: Full-time, Permanent

Working hours: 30~ 40 hours/week

Benefits: 4% of vacation pay

Job Duties:

• Plan and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of sushi foods
• Prepare and cook Japanese sushi foods such as sushi, sashimi, chef’s special sushi, and specialty foods
• Create new recipes
• Plan menus and ensure sushi food meets quality and safety standards
• Demonstrate and train new cooking techniques/equipment to staff
• Supervise activities of cooks and staff
• Monitor and requisition food and supplies of sushi bar
• Arrange any repair /purchase of sushi bar equipment
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies

Job Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school;
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in commercial food preparation required.
• Cook’s certification an asset.
