Job Duties

• Safely transport cabinets, boxes, wood, materials, and tools to and from warehouse, job sites, suppliers, or customers, mostly within British Columbia.
• Ensure that all items are properly secured and protected during transit to prevent damage.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of cabinets and materials, ensuring that everything is handled carefully to avoid damage.
• Use equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks if required and if certified to operate them.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with the company’s production team and customers to ensure timely arrivals.
• Communicate effectively with dispatcher, customers, and site personnel about delivery times and any potential delays.
• Inspect goods before and after transportation to ensure they match the order and are in good condition.
• Complete necessary paperwork, including delivery receipts, and any required documentation.
• Interact professionally with customers and construction site staff, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise during delivery.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company in a positive manner.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on the truck to ensure it’s in good working condition.
• Report any mechanical issues or required repairs to the company.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while driving.
• Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during loading, transport, and unloading.
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption.
• Be prepared to adapt routes based on traffic conditions, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.
• Keep track of inventory and materials during transport and report any discrepancies or shortages.
• Communicate regularly with the warehouse or production team to ensure smooth operations.

Employment Requirements

• Class 1 or A Driver’s License and Air brake endorsement are required.
• 1-2 years experience is desirable.
• However, No experience is necessary.
• On the job training will be provided to willing candidates.
  Proficiency to communicate in basic English.
• Willing to travel, for extended periods, overnight.
• Ability to communicate with dispatcher and management.
• Clean driving record.
