16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence
November 27, 2024
Join the Department of Family Services and the Qulliit Nunavut Status of Women Council (QNSW) in marking the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign observed from November 25 to December 10, 2024, dedicated to preventing and eliminating violence against women, girls, and gender-diverse people.
This year’s theme, Come Together, Act Now, highlights the importance of everyone’s role – especially men and boys – in changing the social norms, attitudes, and behaviours that contribute to gender-based violence.
Gender-based violence isn’t just physical or sexual – it can also be emotional or financial. Recognizing the signs, speaking up, and creating safe spaces can make a meaningful difference for those in need.
The Government of Nunavut (GN) and the QNSW are committed to working together to end gender-based violence in our communities.
For more information and resources, visit the GN website or the QNSW website.
Let’s come together to build a safer and more equitable Nunavut.
